The timetable for your visit

Visit timetables are flexible and based on the areas of the curriculum that you have chosen to cover, as well as individual school requirements.  Feel free to get in touch with Elaine for a quick chat about your requirements, and we can develop your visit timetable further during the planning stage

Here’s an overview of how the day is usually structured, which works well for most groups.

Arrival - 9:45am - 10am

On arrival you will be greeted by Elaine and directed to our farm learning area.  Elaine will introduce herself, the farm and briefly highlight the safety points/areas out of bounds and why this important.  Safety will be discussed throughout the day as we are a working farm and key points will be identified depending on the activities, weather etc.

Pupils will be encouraged to use all of their senses (even it can be a bit smelly sometimes!) and ask lots of questions.

Curriculum Activities - 10:15am

These will already have been arranged prior to your visit, in line with your curriculum requirements and planning.

Lunch - 12:15pm

A short lunch break begins with mandatory hand washing to ensure health & safety.  All visitors should bring a packed lunch, which will be eaten in our covered area.  There will of course be tea and coffee provided for adults.

Please note that as a working farm, we do not have a play area.

Curriculum Activities - 12.45pm

Afternoon activities will be more informal activities to consolidate learning and give children the chance to be more independent in exploring and learning about the farm.

Recap of the day and Q&A - 1:45pm-2pm

We finish the day with a recap of all that we have learnt along with welly washing, change of footwear and finally one last hand wash!
